Walking, running, cycling: now you can get from the city centre to Portonovo Bay in a path in the middle of the nature of the Conero Park, among plants, glimpses of the sea, immersed in the sweetness of our hills. A path of relevant importance for the development of soft mobility, which promotes the direct connection of the city with Portonovo and the integral reserve of the Conero Park, crossing it for over 11 km in an environment of extraordinary landscape quality, with a maximum gradient of 10%.
The route runs from the parking lot upstream of Portonovo, crosses the Varano area, passes through Montacuto and arrives in the Pietralacroce area and then, along the Miano valley at the “park direction” trail, ends at the parking lot under the viaduct in the Vallemiano area. The trail approaches city bus line stops at some points to facilitate sustainable intermodality. It can also be traveled for only a few stretches, as there are several access points.
Ancona is on the route of the Adriatic Ciclovia, a bicycle route that is gradually being built along the coastal strip of our province and involves 14 municipalities of the Ancona hinterland, for a total of 37 kilometers of route. The route makes use in part of the roadbed of the old provincial road, as well as existing and new paths.
