Located opposite the Palazzo degli Anziani, in Piazza Stracca, the church was commissioned in 1605 by Count Nappi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the middle of the 18th century, Pope Clement XII put Luigi Vanvitelli in charge of modernizing the city. The high portico, which covers the main gate and the staircase, is supported by two Doric columns and double corner pillars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The church is shaped like a Latin cross, covered by a barrel vault with lunettes, with side chapels. In the main altar there is\u00a0 the painting \u201cCircumcision\u201d by Orazio Gentileschi. One of the side chapels contains a canvas painted in 1700 by Sebastiano Conca, the \u201cDeparture of St. Francis Xavier for the Indies\u201d.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][mk_padding_divider][vc_column_text margin_bottom=&#8221;0&#8243;
