Within the bay, perfectly marked trails cross through a small grove that leads to the sea, allowing nature lovers to fully immerse themselves in the Conero environment. Nestled in the vegetation are two charming brackish lakes surrounded by thick reed beds of rushes and marsh reeds: the Deep Lake near the small church of Santa Maria di Portonovo<\/a> and the Large Lake or Calcagno Lake near the pier. The church – an 11th-century Romanesque gem mentioned by Dante – is open to visitors on a regular schedule throughout the summer season: check the dedicated page<\/a> for updated opening hours.<\/p>\n

Other places absolutely worth seeing are the Torre de Bosis and the Napoleonic Fort, built respectively on the elbow point of the bay and in the northern area, historical testimonies that enrich the visiting experience.<\/p>\n
