There is a wide variety of trails on Mount Conero, a hardtail suffices for most. For the climb, you can take several dirt roads, or you can take the paved road, then come downhill through the scrub. You can also start from Mount Colombo, near the golf courses. Every season has its own spectacular panorama \u2013 but the fun is always great!<\/p>\n

If you prefer road cycling, the first section of the 30-km road from Pietralacroce to Porto Recanati is dotted with breathtaking views of the Riviera, for example from the roundabout at the beginning of the road to Portonovo<\/a>. The road downhill, which leads to the beach, features hairpin bends that the more experienced cyclists will love.<\/p>\n

From the Portonovo junction, the road goes through the pine woods of Mount Conero in a series of curves and counter curves. The climb at the junction for Mount Conero is something you can\u2019t miss. Continue to Sirolo, a charming Medieval village that is absolutely worth the visit! The descent take you to Numana, and then on the coast to Porto Recanati through Marcelli.<\/p>\n

For those who prefer less challenging itineraries, there are many dirt paths on flat terrain to choose from. Start paddling from Passetto<\/a>, where you\u2019ll see the imposing staircase leading to the beach, the caves and the Seggiola del Papa, a large rock formation. Portonovo and Sirolo are also popular with surfers in winter, in beaches such as Spiaggia della Vela, Molo and Sassi Neri, just to mention a few, where the waves can be spectacular.<\/p>\n

Capannina Beach, Sirolo and Marcelli di Numana are popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers year-round.<\/p>\n

At Portonovo winds usually blow E\/SE and can reach 25\/30 knots.
\nAt Sirolo winds usually blow N\/S, intense thermal winds can blow up to 20 knots. With the right conditions, starting from Sassi Neri, you can reach Le Due Sorelle, a fantastic beach located on the slopes of Mount Conero that can only be reached by boat.
