Restored works from earthquake sites along the paths of faith<\/h4>\n

Mole Vanvitelliana | From April 11 to June 15, 2025<\/h4>\n

Promoted by Anci Marche and Pio Sodalizio dei Piceni, Rinascimento Marchigiano presents a series of very important works, restored and from the earthquake sites. It is above all an opportunity to enhance territories that, affected by the earthquake, through art can be reborn. And this is the meaning of the title of the exhibition.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is also an opportunity for visitors, to follow a path of visit and knowledge, not only of the exhibition, but also of the Mole as a whole and the Museo Omero so as to actively involve in the promotion all those subjects that for their role can transmit information, organize visits and raise awareness of students, citizens and tourists with respect to this event. In this way, it will not only be the organizing bodies and subjects who will be the promoters, but the tools for the dissemination of information will be provided to a wider and more active part within the economic, social and cultural fabric of our territory.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Openings, tickets, discounts<\/h3>\n

The exhibition will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday<\/strong> from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday<\/strong> from 3 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Sunday and holidays<\/strong> (Easter, Angel Monday, April 25, May 1, Patron Saint, June 2) from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday closed. Guided tours are also possible at night, extended to other places within the Mole Vanvitelliana structure: Marciaronda, Museo Omero, Design Collection, even after hours by reservation.<\/p>\n

The full-price entrance fee will be 8 euros<\/strong>, but, with a view to promoting cultural proposals, the territory and tourism promotion, the council has established a series of concessions<\/strong> aimed not only at Ancona citizens, but also at university students and tourists who, at the same time as visiting the exhibition, will stay in Ancona or have lunch in the city<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In addition to the 8-euro ticket, therefore, there is a 5-euro rate<\/strong> for residents of the Municipality of Ancona, university students with ID, those over 65, children under 25, Feltrinelli, Marche Teatro, Aci and Coop card holders, members of FAI, Italia Nostra, Touring Club and Icom, and families not resident in Ancona with accompanying minors. There is also a reduction for those who dine in an Ancona restaurant, have stayed at least one night in Marche accommodations<\/span>, visit the exhibition with an accompanying person residing in the municipality of Ancona.<\/p>\n

In addition, children under the age of 16, journalists with a membership card of the Order, nationally registered tourist guides, people with disabilities and their companions will enter free of charge. Admission will also be free for visitors staying for at least 2 nights in Ancona’s accommodation facilities<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Works<\/h3>\n

The works on display, all restored by professionals from the Marche region, are of considerable interest from a historical and artistic point of view. Prominent among the wooden crucifixes is the one in relief on a shaped cross with a blue starry sky made for the early Christian church dedicated to the Most Holy Savior in Ancona (today Saints Pellegrino and Teresa, after 18th-century renovations), restored by Maria Laura Passarini. The crucifix, dating back to the 13th century, is of the Christus Triumphans type like the one from Matelica on display in the exhibition. The intervention, made necessary by the presence of severe and widespread signs of previous and active xylophagus attack that was the cause of gaps in the support, was aimed at the best conservation of the asset, but without the reconstruction of parts lost over time.
\nAlso from Ancona is the oil on canvas St. Charles Borromeo in Glory and Saints (1625-1630) by Cesare Dandini (Florence 1596 – 1657), a 470-by-240-centimeter work located in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, restored by Maria Veronica Soro. Both Ancona churches that house the works in the exhibition are currently closed due to the 2022 earthquake.<\/p>\n

In addition to works by Carlo Crivelli, Antonio Vivarini, Pietro Alamanno and Cola dell’Amatrice, there is also the presence of one of Lorenzo d’Alessandro’s masterpieces, kept at the Piersanti Museum in Matelica but coming from the vanished church of San Michele Arcangelo. It is the \u201cMadonna Enthroned with Child and Saint Anne, Saint Roch and Saint Sebastian\u201d (second half of the 15th century). The panel, prior to the current restoration, was in a poor state of preservation with numerous and conspicuous detachments of the paint film from the support; on the back it was also constrained by a complex reticulated containment system that was removed and replaced. The exhibition also includes 17th-century works by Ludovico Trasi and Giuseppe Puglia known as Bastaro.<\/p>\n
