HERBS MARKET
Located in Corso Mazzini, the Mercato delle Erbe (Herbs Market) is a covered Art-Nouveau market, built in 1926 by workers from the nearby shipyard, who used scrap metal harvested from Austrian ships. Many ancient Roman mosaics were found when the market was built.

The market, which features fruit, vegetable and local food stalls, is located in one of the most lively parts of town, popular with young crowds as well.
Renovations are planned to turn this market into Ancona’s own Covent Garden, but have yet to be scheduled.
