THEATER OF THE MUSES F. CORELLI
Designed by Pietro Ghinelli, the Neoclassical Teatro delle Muse F. Corelli (Theater of the Muses F. Corelli), the largest in Le Marche and the 13th largest in Italy, was inaugurated in 1827. At its opening, two operas by Gioachino Rossini, “Aureliano in Palmira” and “Ricciardo and Zoraide”, were performed.

Located in the heart of the city, the theater offers a variety of programs, ranging from opera and ballet, to symphonic music, concerts, plays and a jazz festival.
Since its inauguration, over 360 operas were performed, until 1943, when the roof of the theater was damaged by bombings and performances had to be suspended.
The theater was restored, in particular the staircase at the entrance and the old atrium, and renovated so as to preserve the harmony between the modern interior and the Neoclassic exterior.
