Since June 19th, 2008, the fort has been the seat of the Permanent Secretariat of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative, an international organization that coordinates the policies of Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Greece. For this purpose, the fort was restored.
